Įłàà Katı̀: A Festival of Traditional Knowledge Festival, in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, from September 19 to 21, 2014.Ghanaian-born Professor George Sefa Dei (PROFESSOR, UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO, ONTARIO INSTITUTE FOR STUDIES IN EDUCATION) is a renowned educator, researcher and writer who is considered by many as one of Canada’s foremost scholars on race and anti-racism studies. He is the recipient of many awards including the 2014 Distinguished Teaching Award, OISE, University of Toronto and the 2014 recipient of the Ludwik and Estelle Jus Memorial Human Rights Prize from the University of Toronto for his internationally recognized work on anti-racism and social justice. In June of 2007, Professor Dei was installed as a traditional chief in Ghana, specifically, as the Adumakwaahene of the town of Asokore, in the New Juaben Traditional Area of Ghana. His stool name is Nana Sefa Atweneboah I.
